Seamark Beacon

Seamark Beacon

Product

Stop finding out about failures from your users.

Kafka Connect is a REST API and a set of logs. Beacon is the control plane in front of it — live health for every connector, safe start/stop/restart, and a record of who did what. Operate CDC without living in curl.

Operating vocabulary

The verbs of running Connect.

  • Start
  • Pause
  • Restart
  • Cluster
  • CDC
  • Audit
  • API keys
  • Roles

Live visibility

Connector state, task health, worker identity, and last-seen timestamps. Config in a table or as JSON. What Connect knows, you see.

Safe controls

Start, stop, and restart with confirmations. Roles gate who can mutate. Viewers are never one misclick from a production pause.

Full audit trail

Every control action is recorded with actor, status, and message. Reads are bounded to your plan. Expired events are purged daily.

Workspaces & roles

Owner, member, viewer. Isolation per workspace so platform teams do not share a single god-mode session.

Encrypted credentials

Cluster basic-auth passwords are encrypted at rest. We never store the Connect password in plaintext.

API keys

Scoped Bearer keys for CI and automation. Hashed with HMAC-SHA256. Plaintext is shown once, then gone.

Early-stage, on purpose.

Beacon talks to a single HTTPS Kafka Connect endpoint per cluster, with optional basic auth. Connectors are managed by name. There is no custom plugin marketplace, no cluster provisioning, and no pretend SOC 2 badge. Plan limits are enforced server-side.

If you run Debezium or Connect today and want a real operational surface — not another observability wallpaper — this is the product.
